Petes fans help fight cancer – Peterborough Examiner

When Tracy Cottam required rides to Toronto for cancer treatment, she turned to the Canadian Cancer Society of Peterborough.

Now that’s she cancer-free, she’s turned to them once again – to provide back.

Cottam and her family, including husband, kids, dad, brothers and sister-in-law, run the Pink in the Rink silent auction.

They’ve been performing it for the last 4 years.

That’s simply 2 years after Cottam was diagnosed along with thyroid cancer.

Her son Ryan was 1 years old at the time, her daughter Claire was 4, and her various other son Matt was 8.

For seven weeks Cottam received procedures at Princess Margaret Hospital in Toronto from Monday to Friday.

Her mom stayed at house along with the youngsters and her dad and husband took turns driving Cottam to Toronto at the very least 3 days a week.

On the days they couldn’t take her, Cottam relied regard Wheels of Hope, a ride regimen readily available by the Canadian Cancer Society.

Because of Wheels of Hope, Cottam didn’t miss out on a night at home.
